CanadianWay Chat Rules Of Conduct:

Mission Statement

We here at CanadianWay: Owners, Administrators and Moderators,
all agree and are working together to create a chat site that
caters to the common good of all chatters. We request that
all chatters treat the chat site with respect, both for the
staff here at CanadianWay and all other chatters.

We hope that all chatters will feel welcome with us here at
CanadianWay and will see this as a second home.

One of the reasons we started this server has got to do with
OpenSource software. It gave us the idea to have an Open Minded
server where people can chat keeping mutual respect in mind.


Goal

Our long-term goal is to become the best chat server that
we can be and to provide future services for our chatters:
- Fast file transfers using DCC
- A possible DJ service
..: (including but not exclusive to live shows)
- Support for;
..: Computers
..: Linux
..: Web design
..: Music


General Rules of Code and Conduct for Chatters on CanadianWay

1. Do not Advertise other chat servers on this chat server


2. Do not Advertise this chat server on other chat servers


3. Server Rules (applied to all users of the chat site,
...staff as well as chatters):
- Threatening, sexist, and racial comments will not be
..tolerated, and will result in the following:
..a. Temporary ban (time out/to be determined by staff)
..b. Permanent ban

Definitions for each infraction:
a. Threatening: Stalking, Emotional, Psychological, Physical,
...Blatant and Continued Abuse of a Chatter(s).
b. Sexist: Poking fun at a person's gender, sexual preferences,
...or making derogatory remarks about their sexual habits.
c. Racial Comments: Slurs pertaining to race will not be tolerated.
...The whole world is welcome here.


4. Rules for Room Owners and Server Admins:
4.a. Abuse of power is not permitted
4.b. Please adhere to the server rules if you are an owner of a room
4.c. Please adhere to the server rules if you are an admin


5. Lounge Rules:
5.a. Derogatory or offensive nick names are not allowed
5.b. The age limit on this server is 21+ some rooms might have higher
.... limits. This is the room owners perogative. Lower limits are not
.... allowed.
5.c. All adult sexual conversations should be kept out of the lounge
.... and kept in private rooms or in p2p
5.d. Adult rooms should come with a warning of explicit chat and 18+
5.e. Any link to porn or other sexsites will be subject to official
.....complaint and could result in action from the staff or from
.....providers
5.f. Parking is generally allowed for short periods
.....This is not a wildcard for parking all day
.....Parking for longer times is only allowed for room owners
.....and/or server admins


6. Rules Governing Visits to Other Rooms:
6.a. Please respect the owners of the rooms
6.b. Room owners are free to set there own rules as long as they:
6.b.I). Don.t infringe on the server rules
6.c. Admins will NOT handle room issues unless rule 6.b.I). is broken
6.d. Admins will NOT handle room issues unless asked specificly by
.....the owner
6.e. Do not attempt to govern set rules


7. The Room owner is usually right


8. The Server Admins are almost always right


9. The Server Owners are always right


10.Forget all of the above and have fun
...(unless you.re planning on breaking any above rules)


Extra notes for Lounge mods/users:
- A moderator should not OP anyone that has not been aproved by the owners
- No P2P without asking first

- join the Help room

..:we try to have someone there at all times. Please be
...patient as sometimes the support staff might be busy
...helping people out in their rooms or absent
- join the Support room
..:type /join #Support
..:same rules apply as in Help room
..:this room is meant for more serious issues


extra support notes:
- When there.s a nickname from the support staff in either
..the Help or Support room,.. you can also leave a message
..if you do not require immediate response.
..(excluding YamaskaOper = bot)
