Darby, Montana has been under a large and very smokey fire threat.Many fires have spread quickly and have done much damage to the mountains,wildlife and forests near my home.I was asked to leave my home on Sunday August 06 and got things packed up and began to leave but was informed that I should stay by the fire service and protect my home as the firefighters could not .Everything has turned out well so far except for power loss due to high winds. Well I have my power back but now (9 hours later)I can see towards the small town of Darby the raging flames that threaten it.Which broke out around 4 pm.However.. It is 7 miles from me and I am safe as is my home. I will keep you all posted as I get more info. Seems the town councel has put the entire town on alert for evacuation now and there is no relief in sight this soon.. I am safe for now but this has left everyone in a panic and state of helplessness.Quite depressing to say the least...I am sure I will be here in the morning but if I am not you will know that we are safe at a friends home in Hamilton.. 25 miles north of here. The fires are getting bad again due to the high winds . The sky is filled with smoke and I can not breath very well this afternoon.I cannot see one mile away from my home because it is so thick.Seems there is three more fires that have ignighted nearby and I am not sure what we are going to do now but I was told by the Fire Law Enforcment that it doesnt look good for Darby or surrounding homes like mine.I will keep you posted as always and Hope all of you are well. Spent most of the day Saturday evacuating some friends from the north of me. The fires are not gone but most are under control now.
